1.too...to... 太……而不能……
【常考用法】
too...to...結構并非都表示否定意義，在下列情況下表肯定：
(1)當too后形容詞是表示人的態度、情緒傾向等的形容詞如glad，anxious，eager，ready，happy，pleased等。
(2）can’t/can never too...表示“再……也不為過，一定要……”。
In the farmyard，the chickens and even the pigs were too nervous to eat.
在農家庭院里，雞甚至豬都緊張得不吃食。
You can’t be too careful when crossing the street.過馬路時一定要非常小心。
I’m too willing to help you.我非常愿意幫助你。
She is too young to take care of herself.她太小了不能照顧自己。
2.It seemed as if...
看上去好像……；似乎……
【常考用法】
（1）as if好像，仿佛；可以用as though替代。
（2）as if/though后面的從句如果敘述與現實相差太遠，就要用虛擬語氣，敘述與現在事實相反，從句謂語動詞用過去式（be用were）；敘述與過去事實相反，從句謂語動詞往往用had done。
It seemed as if everything was wrong.看上去好像全錯了。
It seemed as if/though he had nothing to do with this matter.他看上去好像與此事毫無關系。
He acted as if/though nothing had happened.他表現得好像什么也沒發生。

句意：拿花瓶時不要當它是鋼做的一樣。as if引導的方式狀語從句或表語從句中常用虛擬語氣，表示與事實相反的情況；又由Don’t handle...可知此處應為與現在事實相反的虛擬語氣，所以應用動詞的過去式were，故B項正確。做對此題的關鍵在于牢記as if引導虛擬語氣的形式。

本題考查連詞。句意：杰克什么也沒說，但是老師朝他微笑好像他做了聰明事似的。as if好像，仿佛；in case萬一；while雖然，盡管；though盡管。由句意可知A項正確。

her guests were finishing their meal.
A.so that B.although C.while D.as if
答案：C
句意：當客人們快要吃完飯的時候瑪麗煮了咖啡。so that引導目的狀語從句或結果狀語從句；although引導讓步狀語從句；as if引導方式狀語從句，均不符合句意。由句意可知應選while，意為“當……的時候”。
（5）（2010·安徽高考）The engineers are so busy that they have zero time for outdoor sports activities，
they have the interest.
A.wherever B.whenever C.even if D.as if
答案：C
句意：工程師們如此忙以至于沒有時間進行戶外體育活動，即使他們有興趣。wherever “無論哪兒”；whenever“無論何時”；even if “即使”；as if “好像”。根據句意可知應選C項。

考查連詞的用法。as long as意為“只要”。

本題考查連詞的用法。句意：他們中的許多人不聽他的建議，盡管他們知道那很有價值。as if好像；now that既然；even though盡管；so that結果是。

3.leave+賓語+賓補 使……處于……狀態
【常考用法】
該結構中賓補可以是現在分詞、過去分詞、動詞不定式、介詞短語、形容詞、副詞等。
Many people were left homeless after the earthquake.地震過后，許多人無家可歸。
Don’t leave the water running all the time while brushing your teeth.
刷牙時不要讓水一直流著。
The writer died leaving his works unfinished.那位作家去世了，他的作品還未完成。
4.all...not...=not...all 并不都……
【常考用法】
all，both，each，always，every 以及every構成的合成詞與not連用時表示部分否定，not可以放在這些詞的前面，亦可放在它們的后邊。
Not all the people enjoy a trip during the National Day.
國慶節期間并非所有的人都喜歡旅行。
Not all students like English/All students don’t like English.
并不是所有的學生都喜歡英語。
Both of them haven’t been to the Mount Huang./Not both of them have been to the Mount Huang.
他倆沒都去過黃山。

（2010·重慶高考）He had lost his temper and his health in the war and never found
of them again.
A.neither B.either C.each D.all
答案：B
句意：在戰爭年代他的脾性大變，身體也垮了，再也沒有恢復過來。句中提到的是兩樣東西temper和health，因此首先排除表示三者以上的all；因為句中有never表示否定，所以只能選擇either。
